The Benefits of Staging

Is your home market ready? The idea of preparing or “staging” a home to make it more marketable has been around for years. New home builders saw the benefits and have incorporated model houses into their sales and marketing plans for decades. Put simply, it works or they would not still be spending the money it takes to deck out their models. There is, however, a psychology to what they do beyond decorating. The color palette for these homes is carefully chosen.

Furnishings are usually smaller in scale and less furniture is used to create a feeling of spaciousness. Clutter is nonexistent. One room easily flows into the next to enhance the floor plan of the model and make the buyer feel even more comfortable in the home. These same ideas can be incorporated into staging a home that is about to be resold whether it is empty or occupied. The goal is to make the home appeal to as many potential buyers as possible
